Chapter 12 explained library items and code snippets. Both methods are ways to update and add repeating elements to your web site.

I hope we actual cover these methods in class. I do plan to use Dreamweaver to create my web sites and I think library items and code snippets can be huge time savers.

The assignment was to find 5 web sites and tell what layout was used.

web site 1 – I believe this is a 2 column (right) layout
web site 2- this is a 3 column layout
web site 3 – this is also a 2 column (right) layout
web site 4 – this is a 2 column split layout
web site 5 – this is a 1 column layout

Chapter 11 – using templates

Creating and using templates for your website is a good way to keep it uniformed. I like the idea of making a change once and having the rest of the pages updated with the same edits.

Using templates along with CSS should make creating globe site updates a lot easier.

I downloaded the free trial of Dreamweaver CS4. The assignments in the book are easier to do now but I’m not really retaining anything. It’s just… click here… type this… I wish we would just create our own pages

I’m new to CSS and working with the Div tag was a little confusing. I’m going to install the 30 day free trial of Dreamweaver. I think having the same version that’s used in the book might make this easier to follow.

I have no idea what I’m doing!
